There is so many things in life other than just academic studies. However, it does not mean that academic studies is not important. To some family, friends, love and perhaps career is everything to them. However , personally I feel we should have balance in life no matter in whatever we do. Be it career, love, friendship and friends. However, I feel that family is everything to me.Personally I feel that we owe everything to our families to what we are today. We will not be here if not for them.

I agree with emotional guy's point of view.Let me give you a scenario.

A couple of busy businessman & businesswoman. They have the mindset that their children's academic studies is everything in life.No need care & concern...No need love...No need to discipline..Nothing!!

So,as a result, they join gangs, smoke, skip school and results started to deteriorate. When that happens, parents started to beat them up,forcing them to study for 8 hours everyday e.t.c.

To all those who have this negative mindsets, please, erase it indefinitely!!It is making the scenario worse!

Therefore,i conclude that not only academic studies is important, but LOVE and CARING for everyone is compulsory!

I also agree that academic studies is not everything in our life but also we should not neglect our academic studies.
As there are also other thing which are also as important as academic studies. Like what emotional guy and ariff said, faimly, friends, career and health are also very important. For example if you do not have the health then how can you do the thing which you want to do. And if you do not have family and friends to be there for you then when you have trouble or need someone to talk to it will be more worse than you do not have academic studies.

I agree that Acdemic Studies is not everything in life. For example those who score "A"s for their exam but have a very bad personalities, I don't think they will go very far in what they are doing. But however, i will like to say that without a decent grade for your academic studies, I don't think that u will even get a good job that is able to support you and your family.

Personally,i agree to the statement,"Academic Studies is not everything in life" to a large extent. Academic studies to me is just a stepping stone to what we want to be in future. It is not just academic studies that we need in life. The support from our family and friends are equally important and that if we are lack of that we may not succeed in what we want.

What my group and i are trying to put across is that academic studies does not mean everything. CCA,individual talent and some essential skills are as important too. Its not all about having As for maths science or other subjects. Its about what we are good at or what we really want in life that makes us a happier person. For example,

If i like playing music or my ambition is to be a musician, does that mean that i need to just focus on academic or i should say subjects study from school?
I dont need to.
I should find a balance between them and that is to study and as a same time to pursue my music career.

Thats what my group and i are trying to put across in this whole statement.

I'l like to point out an important that we missed out, i agree that academic studies is not everthing in life, but i feel that it is a major important process of our lives.
As they had said above, relationship and health is olso very important. But looking from a wider view, academic is very important, it instill values to a person and it determine how a person would grow out to be.
In such a rapid growing society, no people would look up to a person without result. Academic studies provides one thing that will determine how your future will be and that is your certificate.
Ultimately, people should balance between studies and thier lives. Academic studies is not everything in life, but it is a major factor that affect our lives.

What we want to do or accomplish in life depend on how we would want to feel at the end of the day. In other words, we are basically control by our emotions.

So for those who really want to achieve excellent grades in school or be at the top of their academic field and will really feel great about it then perhaps academic studies matter the most.

However, I believe for most of us, there are other areas we want to achieve in life besides the academic area. Some would want security whereas others would like to keep fit and healthy throughout their life, or perhaps a mixed of both. So whatever we want in life, then we have to take necessary action to get what it takes to feel complete and happy. :)

Of course academic studies is not everything in life. In life there are people, food, computers, cars and whatever not. But how do we get our belongings without academic studies? In this day and age money makes the world go round. Almost everything needs money. And the most righteous way of getting it is by working. The most righteous way of getting a job is through education. Without our academics, we won't be anywhere. But with too much of it you juz become the nerd you always wished to be.

There are more to life than just academic studies. However without good education you wont be able to have a good career where you will feel safe in future without having to be tracked down for unpaid debts all your life. With good studies comes good money. However people can also excel in sports and other talents as well. For example soccer players. They are equally well paid with those who studied and make it into top companies. But not many people might have those talents thus making people to compete in this academically challenged world in order to fight for a spot in one of the best career.

It is true that everyone should have a balanced and healthy lifestyle - our CCAs, social life, interests and hobbies, family and studies.
Yet I believe that academic studies is everything in life. I agree with Henki that "it is a major important process of our lives." Just take a look at the students around in Singapore. What are their parents expecting out of them? It is good exam results. The reason to this is plainly because Singapore is a very competitive country, and what we are required in getting a job in Singapore is our academic results.
Like what I've learnt from my father since young that studies is very important. Studies is the key to success in future, and to success, I mean better work, job pay, in short better life.
Even working in fast food restaurants also requires a certificate, what more in other companies. There's indeed news that university graduates can't find a suitable job and got to work in hawker centre as a last resort. However, if we were to compare these university graduates and polytechnic graduates, who would the employers want to hire? It's naturally the one who attains the best results. Yes, our attitude plays a part too but if we were to see it from we’d been brought up with – by our academic merit, it’s all about the paper, certificate.
To end this, I would like to make my stand that academic studies is everything in life, because that is the key to greater success in life.

I personally agree with emotional guy.

I feel that balance is key. I mean it would be totally meaningless if you concentrate your all on academic studies and were to neglect other things such as family, social life, friendship and even career.

However, even though balance is the key, I feel that family is the most important in life. We go through every step with them, share our ups and our downs. As emotional guy said and i quote "We will not be here if not for them." They have been there for us since the start and would even be there till the end, no matter the outcome.

'Quickly go study', this is what my mother keep scolding me when i was still a kid. So, is academic studies everything in life? For me, i agree that academic Studies is not everything in life. We can not spend our whole life just for books, there are still lot of things that are as important as academic studies outthere like family, friends, love..etc.

I totally agree that academic studies is not everything in life. For me,a perfect life must include love, family, friends, and career. One's life integrity won't be a "full circle" without anyone of these.

However, there is always a quotation:One cannot make Bricks without straw.Knowledge is a useful and powerful stepping stone to gain what u want and we have to make a good use of it!Academic studies transform you into a connotative person. At the same time,it affects your mindset and personal characteristics as well.

I agree that academic studies is not everything in my life but i understand clearly that i cannot survive without knowledge as it is a major factor which can affect someone remarkable.

Academic studies is basic asset that we must have in life.

My sister once told me that a student can be valued through his academic studies.
If he(the student) can get good marks for his studies, it means that he is disciplined and able to manage his time properly. This is a good reflection of him towards the society. This is also a good start for that him to excel in other areas such as sports, music etc.

Great and young soccer players like Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo can earn huge income but they do not know when their career will end and it depends how long they can tap onto their skills .

Our government practices paper democracy and we need to have to have paper qualification in order to get a good job and a stable income.

For me, i think having good paper qualification is essential to determine my future.
